Ovulation: When an egg is released from one of the ovaries. The egg will survive for 12-24 hours unless it meets healthy sperm, and fertilization occurs. Ovulation happens only once per cycle, unless multiple ovulation occurs (in which two eggs are released within 24 hours of each other). Without ovulation, pregnancy is not possible.
